We’re having a clear out of The Bandeja kit cupboard over the coming months – which means you could be heading out on to court with a new racket!
This month we are giving away a money-can’t-buy prize – a demo HEAD Extreme padel racket complete with a PickPad. This racket was launched last year and we were lucky enough to get our hands on a test model.
The HEAD Extreme is notable because it has just one hole (and that’s only to comply with FIP regulations). This racket was HEAD’s first launch in this series (the HEAD One Ultralight has since followed at just 300g) and is super aerodynamic as well as light – design experts at Head managed to create a solid racket that is just 345g. Compare this with standard rackets which can be up to 380g and ‘light’ rackets which are generally less than 355g (even with a grip added the Extreme is still sub 355g). You can read more about its development in The Bandeja Issue 3. It’s a great racket and definitely makes people look twice when they realise it has no holes!
PickPad
PickPads are an ingenious idea – the accessory sticks to the top rim of a racket to help players collect balls from the ground without fully bending their knees or back – just push the PickPad down on to a ball, twist the racket and the ball should attach to the PickPad’s hook-and-loop design. The Head Extreme racket comes with a PickPad attached (that’s why the ball is dangling from the top – clever, eh?).
