Traditional or Australian – what’s your choice?

One of the more baffling aspects of padel (once you get to grips with the walls) are the two very different styles of serving – the traditional and Australian.

The traditional mimics tennis – so both the server and their partner swap sides with each point.

The Australian sees each player staying on their side of the court, which does mean that for every other point they will be on the same side of the court, one at the net and the other serving. And that’s what many people find a challenge, especially if they’ve played another racket sport.

Game4padel, in conjunction with PadelMBA, has looked into the pros and cons of each service style. Read the article – Science of the Serve – in The Bandeja magazine (pages 54/55). 🎾
