PadelStars is bringing what it’s calling the ‘biggest padel party of the summer’ to its flagship Southampton club with rugby league legend Martin Offiah on court and on the decks mixing music to keep the party going.
Mark Saturday, June 21, in your diary for the PadelStars’ ‘Summer Smash’ at its six court venue at Trojans multi-sports centre in the city.
PadelStars is bringing what it’s calling the ‘biggest padel party of the summer’ to its flagship Southampton club with rugby league legend Martin Offiah on court and on the decks mixing music to get the party going.
Martin Offiah will be dj-ing at Padel Stars' Summer Smash party
The celebration of padel will include an exhibition match with Martin, free intro to padelsessions, half price ‘mix-in’ events for beginners, intermediates and advanced players (£6 members; £7.50 non-members) and half price court fees on the two outdoor courts.
GB women’s No 4 Lisa Phillips, a recent winner on the international tournament circuit, will be taking five 45 minute padel coaching sessions through the day (£16 members; £20 non-members).
The party atmosphere will include a live DJ helped by Ibiza-regular Martin, who is set to jump on the decks. Padel fans will also find a selfie station and have the opportunity to get a personalised padel ball from Name That Ball.
Jeevan Gill, COO of PadelStars, said: “We’re proud to celebrate six months of success at our Southampton location, one of the first venues we secured. As a dedicated padel operator focused on building vibrant clubs within multi-sport and leisure facilities, it’s incredibly rewarding to see this site flourish. With more than 320 active members and regular use by Southampton University students, Southampton FC and Hampshire County Cricket teams, this club truly reflects the vision behind PadelStars. The event was designed to showcase exactly what we stand for, which is that padel belongs at the heart of modern, inclusive sports communities.”
PadelStars Southampton is one of eight venues opened by the company in just over a year, all located across the south and south east of England. It recently announced plans to build 10 courts at the University of Surrey, in Guildford, and opened new padel facilities in Bournemouth and Basildon with plans and £10 million of investment to develop more venues, taking its padel court count to 58. 🎾
